The Weeknd is back to his glory days, topping the Billboard Artist 100, Billboard Hot 100 & Billboard 200 charts at the same time. The last time Canadian reached such a peak was in 2005.
The pop/R&B singer-songwriter-producer released his highly anticipated studio album ‘After Hours,’ the 14 track offering arrived with previously released tracks ‘Blinding Lights‘ and ‘Heartless.‘ The former now sits at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the first time.
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 444,000 equivalent album units earned (the top weekly total for any album this year), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Since the Artist 100 launched in 2014, seven other artists namely Drake, Taylor Swift, Adele, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello and Kendrick Lamar have ruled all three charts simultaneously.
The Weeknd shortly followed up his album release with the deluxe edition offering 5 new remixes of ‘Blinding Lights,’ ‘Heartless remix with Lil Uzi Vert,’ ‘After Hours, the blaze remix, and a Saturday Night Live version of ‘Scared to Live’ that he performed earlier this month.
The Weeknd just days back reloaded the album with three new songs ‘Nothing Compares’, ‘Missing You’ and ‘Lullaby.’
