Andy Anokye, popularly known as Solo 45 has been found guilty of raping four women. The “Feed ‘Em To The Lions” rapper who has been on trial since January 2019 denied all 31 charges, which included 22 counts of rape, five counts of false imprisonment, two counts of assault by penetration, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).
Videos filmed by Anokye were played during the trial, allegedly showing him raping the complainants. Solo 45’s lawyer Sally O’Niell tried to convince the court that the videos watched were “rough, sometimes unpleasant but importantly consensual, sexual activity” arguing that the women involved were adults and operated on the same game playing level as Anokye.
Christopher Quinlan QC, the prosecutor during his closing remark said “Not one of the women from whom you have heard said that they consented to what he says is a game – the rape game. They marked a boundary and he trashed it because he doesn’t recognize boundaries, either for himself or others”.
Judge William Hart will reconvene for sentencing at a later date, and has also ordered a psychiatric report to be carried out on Anokye.
