Sleater-Kinney is finally back with a brand new song, after months of anticipation she finally delivers “Hurry on Home” and its worth the wait.
They have being gone since their 2015 ” No Cities to Love in secret” project after which they went on tour and a lot has happened since then. The group announced back in February that they in back in studio, working on new music but we didn’t here anything thing till today.
“Instead of just going into the studio to document what we’d done, we were going in to explore and to find the essence of something,” Carrie Brownstein said of the band’s new work in a statement this morning. “To dig in deeper.” Corin Tucker added that working on the new music “was like this manic energy of empowerment.”
“How does brokenness walk? Or move through the world?” Brownstein writes in a press release. “We’re always mixing the personal and the political, but on this record, despite obviously thinking so much about politics, we were really thinking about the person — ourselves or versions of ourselves or iterations of depression or loneliness — in the middle of the chaos.”
