Janelle Monáe is the lead character in a new horror movie titled Antebellum base on the life of a successful author named Veronica Henley (Monáe) who finds herself traveling between present-day and the horrifying and titular pre-American Civil War period. Tasked uncover the time-traveling mystery before it’s too late.
The movie which is produced by film making due Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz who are also behind movies like Get Out, Us, and BlacKkKlansman will be arriving April 24, 2020.
Monáe seems to be making a gradual transition to movies as she recently lent her voice to a character in the new Disney CGI “live-action” remake of The Lady and the Tramp and is also set to play a part in the season 2 of the Amazon Prime Video series Homecoming.
