Rapper Polo G has been arrested and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges of resisting arrest, battery on a police officer, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and threatening a public servant according to reports.
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday morning in Miami as the rapper and his team were on their way to an after-party following the successful release of his new album Hall of Fame.
Polo G’s mother who is also her manager first gave insights into the arrest, she revealed that Polo’s younger 16-year-old brother who was with the rapper during the arrest was also taken into custody and police had refused to update her on their location, asking the public to help her mount pressure on the police department.
Multiple sources have now reported that the arrest took place after the professional driver of the car Polo and his brother were in along with security cut off a police officer in traffic. The vehicle was then pulled over with officers immediately antagonizing the rapper and his teen brother, who were passengers and had nothing to do with the traffic violation.
After only breaking their silence after Polo’s mother-manager mounted pressure through social media, the police department has now announced that they are investigating Polo G’s arrest to make sure proper protocols were followed.
“The department has initiated a review of this incident, which will include an examination of all camera footage to ensure adherence to departmental policy and law,” the post reads.
The rapper on Friday released his new album ‘Hall Of Fame’ featuring guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, Pop Smoke, DaBaby, Rod Wave, Young Thug, G Herbo, Lil Durk, The Kid Laroi and Fivio Foreign.
