Kodak Black and his security guards were victim of a deadly shooting early Monday in a McDonald’s parking lot in Tallahassee. The shooting left one of his guard in need of surgery after being shot in the femoral artery in his leg and losing a large amount of blood.
According to reports, the rapper was in the city to headline Cultur3Fest, him and his crew just left Baja’s Beach Club on Pensacola Street when they were followed by several vehicles who attempted to cut them off, according to preliminary incident reports by the Tallahassee Police Department.
Black and his crew visited McDonald’s on Tennessee and Dewey Streets where they blocked the entrace with a vehicle to pick up an order. Blacks security guard offered to go inside and get the order but he insisted on going inside the store to pick up his order by himself.
The same vehicle that gave chase earlier appeared in the parking lot, left and then returned when its occupants began shooting, according to preliminary reports.
The owner of the McDonald’s store said in a press release:
“We are aware of the incident that happened on the street in front of our restaurant,” Vazquez wrote in an emailed statement. “Our biggest priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and customers. We are fully cooperating with the Tallahassee Police Department, who will provide all updates on this investigation.”
