The album’s arrival comes after months since he first teased the project in 2019. His patient fans have, however, been patiently waiting for its arrival which has, of course, has not been without few pump fakes that have resulted in Carti’s supporters not being confident in WLR’s arrival.
Last week, DJ Akademiks claimed Carti told him that the project will be arriving on Christmas day, December 25, that Kanye West would be an executive producer of Whole Lotta Red along with Matthew Williams, creative director of Givenchy.
Fans were still in doubt about WLR’s arrival even after Matthew Williams confirmed the date given by Akademiks until on December 22, when Carti sent out a tweet, confirming the release date to the long-awaited project alongside its artwork designed by Art Dealer (a.k.a Jung Yean Cho), who is believed to have drawn inspiration from Slash, a Los Angeles-based punk rock fanzine published by Steve Samiof and Melanie Nissen from 1977 to 1980.
