Movie streaming giants Netflix has donated the sum of $100 Milion towards coronavirus relief fund, these comes as major activities in the entertainment industry has been put on hold due to the covid-19 pandamic.
Netflix’s chief content officer, Ted Sarandos said in a statement, “This community has supported Netflix through the good times, and we want to help them through these hard times, especially while governments are still figuring out what economic support they will provide.”
Of the $100 Million, the sum of $15 million will go to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Covid-19 Disaster Fund, the Motion Picture and Television Fund, and the Actors Fund Emergency Assistance, he also stressed out that the company fortunate to be able to help at such a vital time.
“We are only as strong as the people we work with,” Sarandos writes, “and Netflix is fortunate to be able to help those hardest hit in our industry through this challenging time.”
