Mariah Carey is considered one of the most successful musicians of her time, in celebration of her first album released 30 years ago, the singer is gearing up to release a new project titled ‘The Rarities’ on October 2, which she says is a a collection of some of her favorites from her vault.
“Basically I found stuff in my vault that I either started to work on like a long time ago and never released or that I kinda wanted to finish mixing or do whatever,” she said on “GMA.” “But they’re songs that have previously not been released so it’s exciting and it’s a monumental occasion for my career.”
The singer and songwriter will also be releasing a new song titled “Save the Day,” on Friday, August 21. The song according to the announcement is based on an old song which she never completed.
“I started writing this years ago,” Carey writes in her notes for “The Rarities,” “and the message rings true now more than ever: ‘We’re all in this together.’”
Carey will also be releasing a memoir titled “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” will be released on September 29.
