Original Story: Loyal J. Cole fans have been waiting for news of his forthcoming album ‘The Off-Season’ ever since it was announced back in March 2020. The album was announced during the Day N Vegas festival which held at Las Vegas Festival Grounds.
A graphic appeared on screen during the heated show which also featured appearances from Miguel, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD, 6LACK and many Dreamville signees like Bas, J.I.D., EarthGang and Cozz. The graphic revealed that Cole’s new album The Fall Off, will be out in 2020.
2020 went by quietly and the album failed to make it to streaming services but we can’t really blame him for that as many artist held back their albums because of the Corona virus pandemic which disstabilized the entire music industry and the world at large.
J. Cole however released a documentary in celebration of their compilation album Revenge of the Dreamers III, marking the projects first anniversary. Cole also served us with two tracks ‘The Climb Back’ & ‘Lion King on Ice’.
Other than that, he thrilled fans with the release of his sneakers with Puma and at the end of the year, he sent everyone into a frenzy, revealing some of his musical plans. He seemed to hint at three projects; The Off-Season, It’s A Boy and The Fall Off.
Now J.Cole’s close friend and Dreamville’s first signee Bas has posted a picture of Cole on his Instagram and in the caption, he tells everyone “pack your bags” before saying “in two weeks”. Take at the image as reposted by Hiphop-n-more below.
This would give the tape a May 13th release date.
