33-year-old Houston rapper Chucky Trill whose real name is Corey Detiege was on Friday morning, shot and killed by unknown gunmen on Interstate 85 south near Jimmy Carter Boulevard in an area northeast of Atlanta.
According to his manager, the rapper who was visiting for NBA All-Star weekend was on his way back from a local club show hosted by Erica Banks, sharing a series of Instagram Story posts. Police responded to the shooting around 3 a.m., the rapper was shot at least once and died at a hospital.
“Obviously these types of shootings are very concerning for the police department,” said Corporal Collin Flynn. “Not only do you have the two vehicles involved in the shooting, but you also have multiple people that are driving on the interstate that could also be victims in these types of crimes.”
Chucky Trill was the son of rapper D of Trinity Garden Cartel and manager of Cash Committee Musik Group. In 2018, he released an album called “Music for the Soul” and he was working on albums “Cartel Baby” and “No Rumors,” said his manager, Bone of Boneafied Entertainment.
“We were just in the club last night saying how we was gone turn up this Sunday wow. Rest peacefully Chucky,” Banks wrote on hearing the sad news.
