Dre-Ski Delivers Newest Visual “Slide”

Independent artist Dre-Ski is a Virginia native who is also active in the military. The Rapper/Hip-Hop artist generates a sound that is a mixture of Fabolous and J Cole due to their delivery and wittiness. As an artist who writes his own music, he makes sure there is a track for everyone to enjoy. I am currently working on my next EP. The name of the project is called “Turning Point”. In his newest visual “Slide” Dre-Ski delivers that realness and you can get to know him below!
What are your goals when it comes to your music career?
My goals are to get a distribution record deal since I have a current independent label. However, if a great opportunity comes with a Major Label and if the paperwork is right, I would look into that. Another major goal is to continue to build my fan base and reach a different audience worldwide.
When did you start doing music?
I honestly started doing music after I graduated high school. I use to write raps over instrumentals and let some of my friends hear it, but they wouldn’t take me seriously. A huge accomplishment of hers is opening up for Lupe Fiasco and Fabolous where people started taking me seriously.
When did you record your first record?
I honestly recorded my first record in 2006. I was working on a mixtape called “Follow Me Vol. 1”.
Why music? Describe your passion.
My passion for music has always been undeniable. Growing up my parents listened to all genres of music, primarily R&B. 90’s and 2000’s Hip-Hop developed my passion for music greatly.
Who/what inspires your sound/music?
I am truly inspired by Jay-z, J Cole, Fabolous, Pusha –T, and various artists from the south to include Ace Hood and Moneybag-Yo.
Have you collaborated or are you currently collaborating with any special artists, music producers, writers?
I am currently collaborating with a producer out of Atlanta, “Jay Uncut”, and a young producer/engineer out of Virginia Beach named “EK.”
What would you like to do after music?
I honestly enjoy the business aspect of the industry. I currently have a few business ventures to include my independent label. I would like to sign upcoming artists in the future and give them an opportunity to propel their careers from the connections I have established. I think entrepreneurship is the key. I also own a trucking company and real estate investment properties. I have my hands in a few different pots to generate different streams of revenue. The beauty is, it will always circle back to the music.
