Devon The Chief is making his return this summer and keeping the consistency flowing. He just released a visual for his newest single “TBH.” Considering the track as his “realest song to date,” it features Twenty3Wayz and paints a pensive and vulnerable picture of just what exactly each of the two artists have experienced throughout their lives so far. From grieving the losses of close friends, to experiencing betrayal so deep that it leaves them feeling as though they can no longer trust anyone, the song offers a raw vulnerability that listeners can appreciate.
Keeping the visual minimalistic since he wanted to emphasize how he mostly stays to himself, the video consists only of Devon The Chief and Twenty3Wayz posted up, spitting each of their emotionally honest verses under hues of blue and green lights that seem to capture the same feelings that the song possesses.
The melancholic feel of the video is further conveyed through their expressive lyrics such as when Devon says: “I could fill a pool with all these tears/I been supposed to heal, it’s been two years/it’ s like every time I’m up I go down hill.”
“TBH” comes after multiple strings of singles from Devon immediately following his last release “Myself, Pt. 2.” He has another collaboration with Lil Bean on the way as well and even a project expected to release in September so follow him @devonthechief to stay up to date.
